Im researching information for petitioning k-1 .. i am aware for a family of 3 dependents me- future spouse - 1 child .. that i would need to earn $26 k for sponsorship once we update status to marry.. .. My question is if I'm sole sponsor would i still qualify if i live in secondary sec-8 housing... the rent limit is $1200 but its on sliding scale based on how much you make.... would this come up during the process of paperwork..and cause for me to be disqualified as sole sponsor.. (we don't have option of co sponsor)

I'm currently looking to move to other rental or buy...

* I've been told people were not asked about there housing rent..

also if you don't quite make the sponsorship quote and you use other assets such as home to qualify...

what would be the amount in assets value of house needed for a family of 3?

Your housing situation will not be an issue.

You can't use your principal dwelling as an asset.

Assets are valued at a 3:1 ratio ($3 asset = $1 income)

You need to meet the 125% income requirement for the K1 visa as well.
