All Good If Interview Scheduled?

If you get an interview date from the consulate abroad does this mean that the applicant passed all the security and name checks? If they already knew they were going to deny the visa would they bother scheduling an interview?

Having an interview scheduled doesn't guarantee a visa or not being held ups. Believe me, I wish it did!

There are other security checks performed at the consulate level. Lots of people get stuck in Administrative Review/Administrative Processing after their interviews due to additional security checks, waivers needing to be filed, asking for more evidence. People also get denied too and their petitions sent back to the U.S.

Nobody is guaranteed 100% of getting their visa. A great percentage of people are approved at their interviews, but some are either delayed, due to AR or other background checks, or denied due to criminal background or medical problems.
