Alright, so....let me make sure I got this straight:

Been married to my wife since June 2012. She got her 10-year GC in December, and we are military stationed overseas (mods, I did debate putting it in the military subforum, but thought it appropriate to place here; move it if you feel I was in error).

Now, several questions:

1. Can we file our N400 now, or do we have to wait until March 23rd (when she will be a GC holder for three years)?

2. If so, do we have to submit the same ####### we had to submit before (financial documents, photos, affidavits, marriage certificates, etc. etc.)?

And now an N400 question:

It asks for trips outside the U.S. in the last five years.

Alright, that confuses us. We've been stationed in the United Kingdom for the last two years. In these last two years, we have also traveled to Iceland, Bulgaria, and Germany, and she went to Italy for a bit with her Mom.

I get we can count the other trips, but do we count being stationed in the UK as a trip outside the U.S.? I know it counts the UK as being in the U.S. for the purposes of immigration if we are here on official orders, but it's ambiguous here and I want to make sure it still counts as such.

I am the USC.

You can file 90 days before the 3 year mark. Make sure you don't file 1 single day early before the 90 days or you can get rejected!

For the most part, you have to submit proof you are still married since the 3 year citizenship is based on the fact that you are married otherwise it would be 5 yrs.

I am not sure about the trips part but I would think that all the trips outside of where you are stationed would be considered trips for this purpose, since you are stationed in the UK which counts as US for immigration.

I would just list the trips outside of where you are stationed. good luck!

Well the three-year anniversary is March 23rd, so we've been in the window since December. So that won't be a problem.

And as for proof, that's what I'm wondering about; basically, are we sending the same stuff we did with the I-751 and such? We sent a metric f-ton of stuff, to include years of financial paperwork, pictures, affidavits from my family, tax transcripts, trip receipts (boarding pass stubs and such), etc.

I ask because we filed our I-751 less than a year ago, and really haven't done too much since our son was born. So really there is nothing new with our situation; might be able to send another tax transcript since we just filed a couple weeks ago.

I mean, I'm half tempted to just send a notarized thing saying, "We're still married," and leave it at that lol.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question, or asking it the wrong way.

Point blank, since I am having a lot of trouble finding it elsewhere: what are we sending them? The N400, payment, and what?

Ive been trying to figure out the same today..... Its not really that clear in the N400 instructions. However this is this document on the USCIS site that breaks down what to include.

Based on marriage, you should be sending them the N-400, the payment, two photos, a copy of her card, a copy of your marriage certificate, a copy of your US citizenship proof (passport or birth cert), and (I found this easiest) tax transcripts from the past three years.
