Hey Guys,

I have a quick question. I am new to this forum and thought someone might help me in my situation. I should be getting my permanent green card within next the next 2 months and I will be eligible to apply for US citizenship in October this year i.e. 2016.

I was arrested on a class c misdemeanor family violence last week. My wife called cops on me but her intention was not to get me arrested. Cops actually wanted her to sign some documents and she refused to do so and she regrets her decision for calling on cops. There was absolutely no physical abuse. She will be giving a written statement that it was not her intention to get me arrested. Anyway I spent one night in the jail and I was told that class c is just like a traffic ticket.

My question is;

1) Will there be any problem when I apply for US citizenship. Has someone been granted citizenship even after similar crime?

2) What should I do with regards to I-751 which is already in process and I am expecting to receive my permanent green card in 2 months.

Thanks
