Hey guys,

I just want to clarify if purpose for CENOMAR is "passport/travel" would it be wrong? Should it be specified as "Visa Usa" or "Fiance Visa"? I have read a thread way back 2008 saying that it didn't really matter on the interview, all the CO needed was the certification that one is unmarried. Just wanted to hear recent scenarios on this. Hope anyone could clarify.

Thanks!

Don't know that there is a "purpose" for a CENOMAR, it just shows your marital status.

There is a purpose for the NBI and it is fine to be for travel/visa or whatever, just so long as it is the GREEN form and not the yellow.

I was surprised as well. Never thought it would be stated on the last part of the CENOMAR. I just want to be certain that the "purpose" would not matter thus not causing any delay. Thanks for the response, btw ?

You are the first I have ever heard mention "a purpose" for a cenomar. Nope the purpose doesn't matter, just so it is 6 months or newer for the interview.
