I am in USA. My lovely Filipina sweetheart is an ofw in the UAE and her contract is up in September. From reading through the vast information on this site until my eyes hurt, I believe that I should wait until about April or May to send the K1 application and she would likely be home before the interview is scheduled. That is of course with no problems.

I've also read that maybe she could be approved and granted the visa while there in UAE, however she is concerned that her employer may cause problems if it is learned she is doing that. The employer holds my fiancee's passport and even takes it with her when she travels.

My question is am I somewhat correct about the timing? I plan to go be with her again in September and hopefully the timing is right so she can come back with me. But I know we won't be purchasing the ticket for her until she is approved.

Just as a side note, if she is not approved, I will come back, set my affairs in order, retire from my job and move there after the first of next year. Of course I want her to come here for a couple of years before I retire but we will work with what we have.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

seems to me you've mapped out most of the issues.

THE ONLY thing I would focus on,

is

Does USCIS still do auto-expedites for the PI, on the day you filed, due to Typhoon Haiyan, or no ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
