Hello, everyone!

This is my first post here so please excuse me if these matters have been discussed previously.

My husband and I have sent the N-400 forms and all the documents to USCIS on Dec 28th. We've received the appointment for biometrics and we went there together. Tonight I've received a notification that my case is pending the decision regarding the interview date while my husband's still in the "documents received" phase. Has this happened to anyone before? Any chances to end up with the interviews and/or oath ceremony the same day(s)?

Thank you!

December 1st 2007 - applied for DV Lottery

May 5th 2008 received - the first envelope - DV Visa Winners

November 16th 2008 - Interview (I was 32 weeks pregnant)

January 15th 2009 - had the baby (the second child)

March 31st 2009 - landed in Chicago with a 2 months old baby born as a permanent resident She only had her Romanian passport, no visa.

December 28th 2015 - sent the N-400 form for my husband and I

January 19th in Waukegan, IL - biometrics done (appointment was for 27th but we went there with the appointment paper and all was good).

July 6th 2016 - interview for both my husband and I.

Each application is treated seperately so it is not uncommon for members of the same family who file at the same time to move through the process at different rates. After all, you will be interviewed seperately.

To answer your second question, same day or next day oath ceremonies are fairly rare unless you are a 319b applicant, which I do not believe is your situation.

Please review the various monthly trackers and look up the processing times for your city. Majority are processing within 4-9 months. I believe Chicago is in the 5-7 month range.

There is alot of great information in the monthly timelines. Take the time to review them and it will allay any concerns you may have.

No, we are not 319-B applicants. We came to US through DV Lottery. We are both green card holders at this point.
