Go to uscis.gov and look under 'press room' for the memo issued a few days ago regarding expedite.

Interesting read, that one.

Nope....senators canNOT expedite the AOS process. Believe me, if that were the case a great many senators would be having to work their butts off dealing with their constituents I'd wager!

Your senator will have a congressional liason. They can sometimes be helpful in getting answers and resolving issues. So in a way they can expedite things...sometimes. I don't think that was exactly what you were asking though. Are you wanting to cut in line in front of me? If so...why?

heard from my friend that local senators sometimes help in getting 485 AOS expedited in certain cases. Any input from folks who have gone through similar experience?

AOS: Feb 26, 2007 - Jul 26, 2007
REMOVING CONDITIONS: May 4, 2009 - Oct 3, 2009
CITIZENSHIP: Nov 27, 2012 - May 9, 2013
Note: I immigrated from Canada, not T&T - the timeline is reflective of this.

PRESENT - IR-5 Story (reuniting a family)
I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

I would call the senator and ask, according to many on this site, they can't help expedite EAD's either, but they sure assisted in quickly and painlessly expediting mine.

05/10/2007 -- Interview, Approved!

05/22/2007 GREEN CARD arrives!!!

02/2009 - File to lift conditions

I-765

12/14/2006--- Mailed EAD App.

01/20/2007--- Biometrics

02/09/2005-------Sent in request to Congressional office for assistance with expediting EAD.

02/13/2007 -------- EAD Approved!

02/26/2007 - ------EAD received

Removal of Conditions:

05/12/2009 -- Overnighted application by USPS express mail (VSC).

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

That is what I was alluding to. They will not get you processed in front of others. However, they will bring attention to your case and if something is amiss they will get it corrected.

My case had been misplaced and they located it and placed it where it should have been timewise. So in a way they did expedite my case in that they located it. But they did not place it ahead of where it should have been all along.
