I have a question about the D-260. We received the I-797 approval letter and awaiting NVC case number assigned in 1 month. I wanted to know when we do the D-260, do we do it for each beneficiary? I am sponsoring my wife and her 6 year old son and we got 2 I-797 approval letters. Do I need to do the D-260 for her son too?? Or just for my wife only? And also do I need to pay the $88 fee (AOS) for my wife and son?? And also the $230 fee (D-260) for my wife and son??? And also, my wife doesn't speak English, can I fill it out and submit for her?? Thank you so much. The site has been a blessing!!!

I have another question, on the D-260, there's a question about documentation regarding vaccinations in accordance with US. If she doesn't have vaccination documentation, she would answer NO. Would that deny the visa process or cause problems?? My wife lives in Vietnam and she can't get ahold of those vaccinations documents. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

Answers:

  • One form for each beneficiary.
  • DS-260 fee is $325 and must be paid twice
  • AOS fee is $120 and only needs to be paid once but the cases must be joined. Two I-864 forms will need to be completed.
  • You can fill out and submit the form.

Required vaccinations will be administered during the medical exam, this will not adversely affect your case.

Thanks Ryan for the reply. Love it!! I have one more question, you said AOS has to be joined? What do I need to do for that? Also on the D-260 form, so I would answer NO for my wife for having proof of documents of vaccinations? And that will not affect her visa application? Or do we answer YES for having documentation of vaccinations?? Thanks.

When case numbers are issued, call the NVC and have the files joined together.

If you don't have documentation, you answer no.
