Affidavit of Support

So, we just got our acceptance letter about a week ago! Though now she needs to get the affidavit of support done. So what kind of stuff will she need? Pay stubs, a letter from her work of her yearly income?

I don't know how much she makes a year, and I'm worried it might not be enough. Does it matter how much she currently has for money? She kind of went crazy on Christmas gifts... I'm kind of worried about this part the most. She hasn't been working long and only finished college earlier this year.

Her dad also said he could do one of the forms along with her since he makes a lot more than she does, though he already has to support a house of four, so I'm not sure if it may be enough to fit me as well. Thanks in advanced for any help!

Pay stubs work letter tax transcripts bascically she has to make 15k for k1 and 10k for aos they only care what your making now so if she doesn't make enough you will need a co sponsor

How much she currently has in her bank account doesn't matter. How much she currently makes does matter.

Have her order her last three tax return transcripts from IRS. https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Recent pay stubs indicating Year to Data earnings (YTD) are helpful as well.

If she makes less than $19,912 per year currently, her dad can co-sponsor. http://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

To expand on this.

Her dad can cosponsor if she doesn't make 19,912$ per year. Her dad would need to fill out and provide the same info that she will, in the K1 case its the I-134 form (NOT the I-864 form), provide most recent years tax return, and employer letter and a months worth of pay stubs.

If her dad has any children or people he claims as dependants on his tax return though, then the amount needed will go up for him. If he ONLY has your fiance to support and NO dependants, then he would have to make 19,912$. If he has any children under the age of 18, they are considered in the household number as well.

They don't care how she spends her money, they only care that she makes enough per year. To them, if she blows it all it's her own fault.

I would recommend talking about finances though, it's nice to know how much someone makes when you're going to be marrying them and have them be the sole provider until you can work.
