I hope this is in the right section. But I have noticed there are no reviews for the Sarajevo Embassy.

Can anyone that went through Sarajevo please post your experiences, and general atmosphere of the embassy and process?

Also, more importantly, for the medical exam how do you figure out where to go for it. Does it matter who gives the examination, are the doctors all over Bosnia or just in Sarajevo? Is there a list for these things?

Thanks guys!

Hi,

For the medical exam, if you go here and scroll down to find your embassy, you'll see a document listing all the doctors that conduct medical examinations for the US Embassy

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/interview/prepare/medical-examination.html

This information will most likely be provided in your interview letter package as well.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the embassy is not listed there, unless I am blind. If you see it on there can you screenshot for me? :help:

I know :D My experience with Embassy in Sarajevo is great, everybody is really friendly, and the interview was easy, both for my tourist and K1 Visa.

My wife was denied her tourist visa a couple years ago, before we were married. and the lady that she was speaking with at the counter was very rude and wouldn't even look at any papers she brought.

So kind of nerve-wracking.

I still have a few months to go, but hopefully they remain nice like yours!

Another quick question for Sarajevo, I had my wife get a police report, but on it it says Criminal Record Certificate, is this what you get when you get the police report or did we get the wrong one?

thanks

When it comes to tourist visas, they usually know if you will get approved before the interview, so if she had no full time stable job, or if she wasn't a full time student, that is probably the reason she was denied. My mom was approved for her tourist visa last week, and her interview lasted only 2 minutes.

You are applying for something totally different now, I know a lot of people from Bosnia that came here, and I didn't hear for a single denial. Just prepare everything ahead, tell her to be confident, dont volunteer any answers, be honest, and you will be fine.

I had many red flags on my K1, my husband is much older than me, we come from totally different cultures and religions, and still I had very pleasent and easy interview. Everybody was friendly, from the security to CO.

When it comes to medical, Embassy sent me a mail with all the documents I need and doctors I can visit. The one I'm sure that does the medical is Eurofarm Policlinic in Sarajevo. You can't just go to any random doctor to do it. Also your wife should talk to her personal doctor to give her a proof of vaccination. And I usually recommend everyone to wait until they get letter from embassy, and then do the medical. That was for K1, I'm not 100% sure that the same procedure is for spousal visa. I hope someone who is more experienced with spousal visa will give you a better answer.
