New Passport issued

I'm a US Citizen and I've just mailed in my husband's financial and supporting documents for the spouse visa.

Also I submitted his online visa application.

I used photocopies of and a passport number for his passport that was good until 2024...

He is India where you can add your spouse to your passport.

He has received a new passport with new passport number AND the old passport number shown, this passport is valid until 2025.

What is going to happen? I am worried that it will be a problem but that we will not know until he goes for the interview.

Is there anyway to correct this now and get them the new passport number and photocopy of the new passport?

Or will it not matter because the new passport has the old information as well?

Thank you for any advice. I am little bit upset as I am raising our baby and working full-time and like everyone want him here as soon as possible. If this is going to delay things then it is a little bit stressful...

Take and old (if possible) and new passport when going to interview and explain.

No, they will not say to redo the visa application. Don't worry. He needs a valid passport, that's all.

Honestly this isn't a big deal. A lot of women do it so they can change their last names to match their husband's so the green card will come in their married name vs maiden name.
