:guides: The guide has the answer to your question.

5. Renewing your EAD. You may renew your EAD when your EAD nears expiration. You must renew your EAD to be able to work until you become a Permanent Resident (or Conditional Permanent Resident) at which time your "Green Card" will be proof of eligibility to work. A suggestion before filing is to check the processing time of the local office you will be sending your EAD to and file at a time equal to the number of days before your EAD expires. ex: if the processing time is three months then apply for a renewal three months before your EAD expires. You will file as category ( C)(9), "adjustment applicant"

Category 9 ( C)(9): Part 5 of the I-765 instructions lists where you should file (in this case the Chicago Lockbox).

*E-Filing.... go here and follow the directions! Filing on category( C)(9) only.

You do qualify for E-Filing for renewal also.

I don't understand how E-filing for EAD renewal serves any purpose.

You are still required to submit passport photos, a photocopy of your original EAD, and other follow up documents.

If it saves time, I fail to see how. We just sent another paper packet.

I agree the E-file serve no purpose, I tried for the renewal of my EAD, I had a terrible experience with it...I had to call the 1800 misguiding line to know what kind of supporting documents I need to mail for my E-fil! after a week I received a letter from Chicago that has my supporting documents along with someone else's check, eventhough I paid by credit card.... :crying::angry:
