Hello Everyone,

I never write here I just read all of the encouraging information that is shared. Right now, though, I am in desperate need of some help. My fiance has an interview soon and we are just trying to round up all of the information right now. The Lagos Consulate ask me to fill a I-864 form along with the I-134. My mom will be my joint sponsor, but on all of her Tax records she has filed "head of household" but she is married. Since she files "head of household" on her taxes should her husband do a form too? It doesn't say she is married anywhere on her 1040 form. I'm sorry it's just that I really do not want her husband in my business he is one of those types of people that will manipulate me about it and hold it over my head forever!! I would rather keep him out of it. Also does your joint sponsor have to live in your household in order to do the I-864 or can it be someone that doesn't live in your household? My Aunt says she doesn't mind being a Joint Sponsor if she has to. I hope I am making sense. Thank you so much for your help and answers in advance.

If you want to use your mom you don't have to have her husband fill out anything. I would assume she files Head of Household because she has dependents. If she doesn't mom is filing wrong and ca get in trouble.

I its easier for you and less stress just go with the Aunt You ave your I-864 and I-134 package and Aunt does the same and has her proof of US citizenship, LPR or naturalization certificate.

Be sure to do both forms correctly. I guess they are scared you will not have anyone when AOS time comes so they want the commitment now. I have seen that ow and then.
