hey folks!

I had my medical done with them last week. Everything went well. All in all it took two hours to get everything done and it ended up costing 340 dollars since I didn't need any vaccinations or immunizations.

Although we made the appointment specifically so that my results would be ready by my interview date, they were not ready. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been experiencing this with them. They told me it would take 3 days to get all the results and now we're going on day 10. Because of them, my visa is on hold until my results come back.

I don't understand why this is taking so long. I know blood tests don't require this much time. They stated they were waiting on one more result and that it might be a few more days before it gets done. I'm aware that I'm being impatient but I find this unacceptable. Furthermore, now I need to have the results mailed to me (a cost that I have to pay) because of this delay and now need to make an extra trip to the courier service in Ottawa to ship the results to the embassy.

Anyone else have good or bad experiences with this clinic?

We are hoping for a Montreal interview in January. We plan on going out for a week to do the Medical, tour Montreal & Interview.

Do we need to give 3 full business days after the medical and pick-up the results on the 4th business day?

We just want to make sure we have enough time in between.

Thanks for any input/advise.

Wow that's insane. My results were ready the morning before my interview. I find that unacceptable too... I wonder what's going on. I would have lost my mind...

I wonder what the issue is! I've never heard of this from them. Maybe there is a problem?

To the other poster, yes they require 3 days after the medical, so 4 in total but I personally suggest 5. I recieved mine on the Friday and had my interview on the Monday. But the results were barely available by closing on Friday.

They said they were just waiting on a single result. I actually ended up contacting them through twitter and spoke to someone higher up, but my results still aren't ready, over a week after they were originally due...

From what I've read online though, this is very uncommon for them.

Mine were ready in 5 working days days.

they called for pick up, but when I went there I had to wait for an hour because they don't bring them to the front desk, ( kind of someone unprofessionalism).

that was on september 2015.

Update: they assigned a different person to my chart/file. She called me and told me they were unable to decipher the results so they had to send it to public health to do it. They apparently take 1-2 weeks. I wish they had told me that sooner. She left me her number to call if I had any more questions, but the last person at medisys who did that has not returned any of my calls yet.

They were supposed to contact the embassy and ask for special permission to send my results directly there. They haven't done this yet either. They said they will once my results are obtained.

After reading these posts I'm not sure if it will work to give enough time for the results to come back before the interview.

We are in Saskatchewan so the medical has to be completed a long distance from us. We were hoping to make only one longer trip instead of 2 separate trips for medial & interview.

Yes we could go somewhere besides Montreal for the medical (Surrey. BC gets the results back the next day, not sure about the Ontario Dr's).

Just trying to plan so that when we do get our interview date we know what kind of time/travel we are looking at.

I went a week before and it was fine. Flew in Monday night, had the medical on Tuesday, got results Friday, interview on Monday, and flew out that day.

Had I flown in earlier on Monday I could've had my results back a day earlier. The OP's situation is very unusual for Medisys.

However it would've been cheaper for me to have the results couriered to me and flown to and from Montreal twice than to stay there for a week. I managed to get my NEXUS interview done at the same time and do some sightseeing so it was a mini vacation.

I was flying from Alberta FYI.

Update: Results finally in, 12 days after their 3 day estimate was due.

They cannot send my results to the embassy, so now they need to send them to me and I'll need to drive to Ottawa to use the Loomis courier service. Has anyone mailed the embassy using regular mail? The certificate from the online service says it can be used but the embassy only ever mentioned using Loomis.

You do not have a DHL or Loomis closer to you? You need to use Loomis to return anything to the consulate.

Closest one is an hour drive away in Ottawa. I'll likely have to do that.
