Hello,

Just about to send our I-129F pack off, just wondering if I need to send the Affadavit of support off with this as well?

A little bit hesitant to be honest as my US fiancee earnt 16k last year which I fear isn't enough and she doesn't really anyone to ask to be a 'back up'. I have a lot of savings but I don't think this matters to the embassy etc.

Any advice appreciated.

The affidavit of support will be first looked at at the interview in London. You take it with you. Each consulate is slightly different in how they process the visas, so once the I-129f is filed, look to London information for the next part of the process.

London will actually consider your savings, but they have no published amount of what they consider as enough. "A lot" of savings is a vague quantity. $30k-$40k would probably allow you to self-sponsor. With your fiance being short about $4,000, then less from you might do. I know of at least one other couple where a combination of income and UK savings was allowed. You really won't find a definitive answer until you present your financial info at the interview. It will be decided on a case by case basis., but London is fairly lenient.
