Hey there! So my fiancee came and we recently got married, which we are super stoked about. Now we are in the process of filling out all of the paperwork for AOS, and I am stuck on Part 6 of the Affidavit of Support (I-864). I was working until about late July this year, but began med school in August, and since have had no income (we will additionally be having a joint sponsor). I'm wondering how I should fill out "Sponsor's Employment and Income" section for myself? Obviously, I am not currently employed, but I would like to show that I did in fact have an income earlier this year. I am wondering how I might be able to do this/if there are any suggestions for approaching this situation? Thank you for your help!

Since you're currently not working, you'd check off 'Unemployed' and put the since date.

It's really not necessary to show that you previously worked because what's important is evidencing a current and ongoing income.

You could attach a letter with an explanation, but, I doubt it'll have an affect on your petition.

Also you'll have a joint sponsor, so they'll be looking closely into your joint sponsor's income instead of yours.
