Hey gang. This is quite the place, as reported by drudge report and other press outlets. However, I cannot seem to get it to take my credit card. Won't even let me add it. Says they are not taking them at this time.

Anyone else having trouble?

Earlier this year Visa and Mastercard stopped processing payments to the site because

of the alleged copyright infringements.

The service is legal under Russian law but the RIAA are doing their best to shut it down.

They do accept some kind of Russian PayPal-like service - I hope the latter accepts credit cards.

I found some old auctions on eBay for gift credits. Looks like they usually last about 5 minutes before they are bought with Buy It Now.

I just checked and they do have a way to add credit through one of their partners (allTunes).

Click "Balance", then "Refill balance", and select "allTunes payment". allTunes accepts credit cards.

I have a 250+ CD collection and used to buy a few CD's a month but the strong-arm tactics by the RIAA have cut my purchases to a few per year. I'll only buy a CD if one of my favorite bands comes out with a new one now. In my case their anti-piracy tactics have backfired.

Yes and Yes. The only options are Pay by Credit Card (which we know will just bring you to a page that says they cannot accept them) and via Gift Certificate.

From what I am reading online, those of us with certain updates of Windows XP won't be able to see that option. Unreal, but apparantly true because believ me, I don't see it. It's not an option when I log on.

Can you provide a direct link? Cut and paste it. Your browser may handle it differently than mine.

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so have you tried Firefox instead? If so maybe try using a different computer that doesn't contain the update. If you don't have access to another computer you could download a 'LiveCD' (I know Ubuntu is one). It will boot your system into Linux without changing anything on your existing hard disk and you can use it to browse the 'net.

You could also download a virtual machine program like VMWare Server (my preference) or Microsoft Virtual Server and connect to AllOfmp3 with a pre-created browser appliance virtual machine designed for browsing the 'net securely. That's a lot of work just to get cheap illegal mp3's though.

Man, looks like I'll have to jump through some serious hoops to use that website's service. A shame I didn't discover it until last week.
