Should I move my case to Dallas?

I'd appreciate any guidance on whether I should move my file to Dallas.

I filed for my AOS (married a US citizen in 2012, but we lived outside the US. I've only been here since Feb 2015, I'm changing from a VWP). I filed in AL in May 2015 but live in Dallas now. The address I used is my in-laws so I can still receive my mail.

Having read about the delay in Dallas, I wonder if I should change my address to Dallas and potentially adding more delay to my case. I've had a couple of RFE's so I only had my EAD approved - case is in the mail. (I'm getting jealous and a bit depressed about my progress...)

Each USCIS local office only has jurisdiction over a set area. At your interview one of the first things they ask is your home address to confirm that they have jurisdiction over your place of residence.

This means you don't get to choose the office you interview at, since only one has jurisdiction over your place of residence.

You should ensure that you have updated your home address with USCIS since that is the address they will send your file to and that's where your interview will be set. If you interview at office X but they discover you do not live under its jurisdiction then your interview would be halted and your file would then have to be sent to the new office. You'd then have to wait months for an interview slot.
