Hello,

I am gathering documentation to apply for citizenship soon. I should be able to do it within a week or two at the most. I am planning on travelling in late May or early June abroad for 2 months. My question is, how likely is it that it will be done in time to do everything, i.e. get sworn in and get a passport? I know that things have been going fast, but there's always a chance for delays etc., so I'm a tiny bit worried.

What happens in a hypothetical situation that not everything is done and I get picked for interview when I'm abroad for 2 months?

If you are not done by the time you leave, I suggest that you sign up for email updates so that you know when your status is updated. If an interview or Oath ceremony is scheduled while you are away, you can always reschedule. Hopefully you have wi-fi wherever you are going :goofy:

It depends on the local office.

In Houston last year I applied on October 9 and my Oath was on June 24 of this year. I had a small delay in my application (approved 3 days after interview as they checked my travel abroad prior to interview) but my wife was approved on the spot at her interview and her oath was May 13.
