It is mandatory to have the VOG for your interview. Also, you need a police certificate from ALL countries you lived in since you were 16.

You can find the instructions on how to get the VOG in the post above.

Also, make sure you don't apply for it too early, as they want a new one (issued in less than 6 months), so I would suggest applying for one once you have your interview date.

Although achmph is right that your VOG should be issued recently, I'd like to add that you are supposed to collect the VOG before the consulate schedules you for an interview (see attached pic of the form in package 3), not after the consulate schedules your interview. You are even certifying and signing that you did collect everything.

The reason why the consulate makes your certify collecting everything before they set an interview date is probably because they experience people coming in without all required materials.

The time between my interview invitation (package 4) and interview date was about 1 month. Getting a VOG may take 1 month if you do not have any criminal records and it may take 2 months if you do have a criminal record. I received my VOG within 2 weeks of requesting it, so acgmph's strategy would have worked for me, but I would have worried for two weeks if it would come in time. So, I collected the VOG before I had an interview date in line with the consulate's instructions.

I requested my vog for a weapon certivicate (airsoft) so i had that one within a day or 8 i have no crime history so thats easy yes they say it can take up to a month for proccessing and research your history.

If im right it may not be older then 3 months right... ill request one asap when they ask for it. I never asked for a usa 130 so i am not sure how it go's after uscis.

I know and see alot of things in people there timelines but no idea what it means like aos and package IV so ill just let it come over me and if i have questions ill look it up here on the forum or ill ask it in a new topic.

Thnx everybody for your support, giffs me the knowledge to help others when they need information :)
