Is it ethical for individuals, entities and/or the state to charge you money for things you need to live?

    • No. Things like water, flu shots, brocolli, small apartments - should all be provided at no cost.
    • Yes. It absolutely is ethical for individuals, entities and/or the state to charge you enough to cover their costs. Profiting off essentials is unethical, though.
    • Yes. It absolutely is ethical for individuals, entities and/or the state to charge you enough to cover their costs. Furthermore, it is ethical for them to profit off our need to live as long as the profit is not exorbitant.
    • Yes. It absolutely is ethical for individuals, entities and/or the state to charge you enough to cover their costs. Furthermore, it is ethical for them to profit off our need to live even if the profit is exorbitant.

Yes.

And this puts me in the minority here (and everywhere) but I think what Mr. Shrek did was perfectly ethical. He has a moral obligation to his stakeholders, not to patients. His moral obligation to them is to make as much money as he can for them.

Now, if he charges more than his market can support, his actual profits will drop. There's always a price point at which profits are maximized and he's ethically obligated (IMO) to find that point and charge it.
