Did embassy required a letter from biological father so that the child could migrate with his mother. I'm told it's required.

Did embassy required a letter from biological father so that the child could migrate with his mother. My lawyer ask for one. I'm the mother of the child, married to a us citizen. I've never been married before so it not that we part n the court granted custody to any of us. We just had a relationship, parted, n I decided to keep the child.

I am waiting on a interview date from the embassy, but according to prior posts from people in the same situation the embassy requires it.
