Cosponsor question

I am dependent on my father for income--I am still a student. My father receives food stamps and doesn't make enough money to be a cosponsor. I have read that you can use assets for this. So can my father put our house as an asset even though he gets food stamps? The value of our house would cover the requirement. I have also read that (losing) the asset should not cause financial hardship--does this mean my father cannot list the house?

Your father can not list his house since it's his primary residence.

You need to find someone else to be the Joint Sponsor.
