I recieved my first NOA. what's the next step? How long until NOA2 notice of approval? (This is for an IR-1/CR-1 SPOUSE visa. Also, I 've been working since march, however, my job is seasonal agricultural worker which means I may not be able to work for much time after this month, how wil this affect in my affidavit of support? I don't earn enough money and am planning on doing a joint sponsor with my father. If I am layed off from work will this affect in the affidavit of support? what can I do?

Hi, Good you received NOA1 thats the first step.

now wait game starts, as per USCIS processing times (which you can check online) estimated approval (NOA2) 5-6 months. Again, depending on service center you can check and see. Usually it is 5 to 6 months. After NOA2 a whole'nother process with NVC.

In regards to Affidavit of support, which you will need after noa2 (but you can certainly start figuring things out now), if you do not make enough to satisfy the requirements, that's ok as long as you have a joint sponsor who DOES meet the entire requirement. You not meeting the req, or being layed off, or being seasonal will not have a negative effect. At the time of filing AOS, make sure you send all necessary documents from you and your joint sponsor. Even if you are unemployed at the moment, you must still provide the I1864 form for yourself

How can I know which service center the application got sent to. My NOA1 doesn't say anything other than that the application was received on September 8th and to verify my information, which I already did via phone call. Is there a way I can know how long the application is going to take to get approved If I sent it in September?

Thanks for your help.

@Gonza07 Simple! Check the first 3 letters of the receipt number. It represents which service center will be processing your case.

.

EAC - Vermont Service Center

LIN - Nebraska Service Center

SRC - Texas Service Center

WAC - California Service Center

Hi,

I just received a notification stating that in order to speed up processing my application has been transferred to the Potomac Service center in Arlington, va. The notification also states that this office will notify me on teh decicion made on the application or petition. It says: Please refer to teh USCIS processing dates for specific service center that your case was transered to. If the service center is within processing time for your particular application or petition, USCIS cannot provide an update on your case. If it's outside the processing time I must call the service center. However, I'm having trouble finding if the service center is within processing dates or not and what all this means. Also, how do I know if application is a premium application or not.

Thanks for your help.

Premium Processing is currently not available for family based petitions like the IR1/CR1 Visa.
There is hardly any news on this new service center.
Below are two threads that were created by those who had their cases transferred to Potomac:

Hi,

I am a bit confused and would appreciate any clarification. On November 12,2015 I was notified of my I-130 petition for alien relative being transferred from the Texas Service Center to the Potomac Service center in Arlington, VA. However, I went online a few minutes ago and checked the status again on USCIS website and it says that as of December 2, 2015 my I-130 petition for alien relative has now been sent to my local office. What does this mean? I haven't received the notification I saw online in the mail. What does it mean by sent to my local office? What do I do now? Thanks in advance for your help and clarification of the confusion.

Hi,

I need help. I am currently filing my husband's ds-260 online visa application. However, I do not have the exact dates of his secondary level education. for example it asks what time he started going to school and what time he got out. I know to what day he attended his this school but i don't know the exact date he entered. Is it okay to give an estimate date. for example if it was in sept. 2008 but you can't remember the exact day can you give an estimate?

Hello everyone,

my husband just recieved his interview date letter (P4) and we are wonder what documents must be collected prior to the interview date. So, aside from providing all original and copies of civil documents, presenting unexpired passport, photos 95cm x 5 cm) and medical exam results, police certificate, what other documents must we have at the time of the interview?

Thank you in advance.
