Hi.

I have two very simple questions that I can hopefully get some help with. I am wanting to know if the below are going to impact an AOS.

- My husband was married to a German citizen who undertook the AOS process and is still in the USA. We were engaged prior to them divorcing. Is this going to negate our application?

- I have personal debts of credit cards that I am slowly paying off back home, totalling around £6000.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

1. It is not an automatic denial, but it is a red flag, the combination especially (second foreigner petitioned, and so shortly after divorcing the first). Make sure to include a timeline of how their marriage broke down and your relationship started, and include a ton of bonafide evidence- especially evidence of time spent together.

2. Not an issue, unless you somehow got criminal charges filed on you.
