Hi. This is just a 'making totally sure' question.... is the following correct: London will not begin to schedule an interview until they have your readiness form and your medical results, whichever comes later. A relevant example: my medical is on October 5th. I can send my readiness form off anytime from now till then and it will make zero difference because nothing at all will happen until Knightsbridge send them my medical results. Correct?

Thanks.

June 11th 2015 - NOA1. off to California Service Center :D

July 27th - NOA2 !!! much faster than expected

August 19th - rang NVC, got LND case number and told our file is 'about to go to London'

August 20th - booked medical at Knightsbridge for September 16th, 10:10am. Feels good.

September 1st - rearranged medical for October 5th, 13:30, because reasons.

September 4th - packet 3 received.

October 5th - medical completed at Knightsbridge. X-ray technician suggested playing Barry White during the procedure.

November 12th - visa interview. Nailed it!

November 20th - collected visa package from DX Southampton

December 6th - one way flight to Philadelphia!

December 31st - getting married! :wow:

NOA1 to Interview: 5 months and 1 day.

Correct. They need the results of your medical before assigning an interview date. Only when they have everything will they schedule your interview :)

Brilliant. Thank you. One quick extra question - is there a page somewhere on here to see how long it's presently taking London to turn things around? I can't track one down.

London also needs your completed DS160 before it will schedule your interview. Those that get ahead of the game submit the DS160 and Readiness before the medical, so it's normally the medical that is the last required document to arrive at the Embassy, which then triggers the scheduling of the interview.

I had a similar question so thanks for these answers.

I did have one issue - I have submitted everything and had medical, so just waiting for interview letter. However, I still have not received my Packet 3. Whats the worse case scenario if I never get it? I only ask because some people have on their timelines "Packet 3 sent"..

Thanks

Packet 3 is merely a letter saying the embassy has your petition and they're ready for you to start submitting forms and have your medical. It's basically instructions of the next step. If you have completed your medical, ds160 and readiness form then you just need to wait for the packet 4 interview letter.

I didn't receive my packet 3 until nearly 3 weeks after the embassy received my case and that was after I contacted them asking about it. The packet 3 I received was dated the day I contacted them and they also told me they had sent it out when they received my case. Two weeks prior.

Ultimately you don't need it. Simply complete all the steps as per the embassy website, gather your documents and wait for the interview letter. In the event that your packet 4 doesn't arrive you can contact the embassy and if they've set an interview date they'll probably notify you via their email response. I was impatient and contacted them, oddly the day after I did I received my packet 4 letter but then a couple days after they responded to my email informing me of my interview day then too.

Good luck!

I'd give it some time yet. At least two weeks. That's what advice I was given from a senior member of the VJ UK forum. You can check out the average wait between medical to interview on a thread that located in the UK forum. Average is about 6 weeks and you usually get the interview letter between 3-4 weeks before your interview date so if you've sent everything wait at least two weeks before contacting them.

You can't ring them but use the contact form on the embassy website. I received my letter 16 days after I sent my readiness form as it was the last thing I sent in. Check out my timeline or signature for my waiting time.

There's a few threads in the UK forum which you may want to read through as there's quite a few people waiting for interview letters now. September/October seems to be a busy time for embassy.

I myself have my interview next Friday!
