I have been reading the wealth of information posted on this site....oh why hadn't I found it before....????

Well I am the Canadian Alien marrying my wonderful man that lives just across the border from me. We filed the I129F in Aug. 06 and we had an RFE...with which we complied and Feb. 14 we received notification that our case was approved and sent to NVC for processing. I am just wondering how we can find out "if they received the package"...when we can expect a letter of instruction and so on. We had originally planned a July wedding..but I'm hearing horror stories now that we may not get approval before then and to not count on anything. I do know that when I have my interview at the consulate it will be in Vancouver. I live in Saskatchewan and Ron lives in North Dakota.

Thanks in advance for your opinions..answers...whatever!!!

Oct 1/09 - I-751 package sent

Oct 3 - package delivered

Oct 5 - NOA mailed

Oct 13 - 1st NOA received and additional letters for my daughters I filed with. NOAs stated Resident Status

has been extended for 1 year and that we will be receiving a letter for an ASC appointment for

fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Dec 2009 - Received 10 year permanent resident card.

Feb 2010 - My children received their 10 year permanent resident cards.

Oct 2010 - My children were legally adopted by my USA Citizen husband.

You can either call of email to find it they have rec'd and get your new case number. You will need to talk to a person not the automated option

hopefully you won't get stuck at the NVC too long, I was in and out but it depends on the person, generally its seems about 2 -4 weeks, and then it'll be sent on the embassy.

Then you'll recieve your packet three, make sure the stuff you can do now, like police certifcates and stuff, that you are working on them already, it'll save time!
