Hi all! We just recently received our noa2 after 6 months of painful waiting. I would like to know to those who have experienced this, how much time did you wait from receiving noa2 to news coming from nvc? Thanks! :)

If you call NVC they will always tell you it takes 35 working days before they get your file from USCIS. I would recommend to call every friday regardless of what they say, it's true that usually most timelines will show 10 days or more but I know there are some that took less than 10 days. It took me 15 working days to get my case number but I called every friday and also call at 7am eastern time so you will avoid long wait times. If you call in the middle of the day expect 1 to 2 hrs wait. Good luck on your journey!

Ohhh ok thanks... So i only need my case number from nvc right? After i have it, ican proceed to the next steps already?

Yes as soon as you have the case number you can go ahead and pay the visa fee, wait 12 hrs to let the payment process and then you can schedule your appt. Also the Manila US embassy website has the required documents that you need to bring for the interview, no need to wait for any packets. Though SLEC will release the medical results to you on the second day(if there are no problems on the results of the tests) you should still allow 7-10 days before your interview to avoid any unfortunate events. Good luck to the both of you.

It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the MNL # from USEM. Call 7:00am eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Don't waste time, start getting your documents together by using the Embassy Letter as your guide for the documents that are needed.

If you have questions return here.

The hard copy sometimes never arrives. Usually it goes to the petitioner but takes 30 - 60 days, that's why you don't want to wait around because your losing time. And of course, anything that is mailed to you gets lost in PhilPost as they are so unreliable.
