Choice of Agent Form DS-261 Question

Hello,

In filling out the DS-261, I see the the beneficiary's name is automatically filled in as the applicant after entering the case and invoice ID numbers. So, for all the information such as address, phone...that's the information of the beneficiary? I am concerned about putting my USA address. If it is HIS name on postal mail but MY address, the mail may not be delivered because he is not on the lease. The name on my mail must be MY name to be placed in the box. I am thinking this DS-261 is suppose to technically be filled out by my husband anyway, hence all that personal information such as address and phone number is suppose to be HIS address and phone in India. Am I right? Help?

Choice of Agent form is basically allowing the beneficiary to appoint someone to receive all correspondence from NVC ie someone to contact.

It's best if that person is in the US since receiving mail abroad takes a month or two.

If you click 'Yes' under 'Do you wish to appoint an agent?' then you can enter your surname and given name.

To be honest, once you provide an e-mail address, the NVC will use that to contact you and won't send any mail. I think this form is just a formality in case there is someone specific who you'd want to receive mail/email.

NVC will not contact you thru regular mailing address after you providing them your email. Every process will b online thru email
