Does anyone here use the Police criminal record check without any fingerprints and be approved during interview? I just to be sure that it's enough. I just went to the local police headquarters in Durham region and they give me the green form.

i live in US and work in US.

That's the exception. Otherwise it's available at Loomis location. I seen it fairly quick in the forum.

Yes, it works like that in Canada simply apply for criminal record check, you just need to mention the purpose in the form like for immigration purpose... but if you stayed more than 6 months outside Canada in any country...you need to go through the fingerprint process for other country's police clearance while staying in Canada.

I got my police certificate without fingerprints.

Did you get your P4 email letter yet?

Not yet. I called NVC yesterday. They said it might be next week.

I'm just re-reading all of the documentation while getting everything together for my interview on Thursday and it says you need all previous passports. I've had the one I presently have for 3 years and the only stamps that would be in it would be from when I was in the States almost 9 years ago for a week and when I was in Ukraine for 2.5 weeks almost 7.5 years ago. What if I can't find it in time?

Curious on to as where you're seeing that. I'm looking at my fiance's packet 4 e-mail from MTL and it doesn't say anything about needed previous passports, just that you need to have your passport valid for 6 months after the visa expiration date and have the passport with you.

Even looking at the PDF packet 4 it doesn't say anything about it other than again, to have make sure your passport is valid for X amount of time and to bring it.

And our packet 3 info doesn't say it either.

That's odd. I can't remember if my fiance has his old one or not.

For at least the last year of reviews here, everyone's only brought their updated one. A lot of people list all their stuff, I haven't seen a "and all my old passports" in anyones list for canada.

My fiance's interview is Tuesday, I doubt he'll find his by then since he works til midnight and leaves for MTL at 6 tomorrow morning, but I really don't think it'll be an issue. I'm sure a lot of people lose it and once it's lost it's lost, you don't get a copy of an expired passport, and at the end of the day, in all of the packets they sent for what they require, none of them say old passports.

You may need it if you get a new passport after applying for DS-160, to show them the passport and passport number you used when you applied since a new passport would have a new passport number, but other than travel proof, there shouldn't be much of a reason you'd need it.

You could always make a new thread asking if any canadians brought their old passports, since it says to on the payment confirmation page.

I didn't bring any of my old passports and they never asked for them. They only wanted to see my current passport, so I wouldn't worry about it!

It varies case to case and if it is mentioned in the letter that bring previous passports then you need to bring them, another way is to file a police report because passport is the important document. The police receipt will work if they will ask about previous passport.

Maybe it is something very specific to your case.

I believe the only time you would need to bring any previous passport is IF you started the process with one passport and ended up renewing possibly in the process as it was going to expire. That's what I did. My initial stuff has my old passport number that has since been renewed therefore I will be bringing both my passports to my interview.
