My not so smooth Journey and Lesson

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make this post but I believe it would be useful to others like myself that applied for their K1 visa without prior knowledge of the process

My fiancé and I got engaged August 2014 after dating for 9months at the time I was a resident in London whilst we were preparing to fill and submit the i-129F one of the biggest mistake we made was putting my UK address as my overseas address and this was done truly because we believed documents etc would be sent to me besides i had not lived in Nigeria in over 7years at the time to cut the long story short I was certain before the submission that I definitely would have moved back to Nigeria we therefore put the Lagos Consulate as Embassy where we wanted the interview to take place as this was asked in the I-129f application form.
We waited 7 long months for our approval to come through we were over the moon as I was already feeling restless it didn’t take time for NVC to receive our application but to our total dismay our approved I-129f got sent to the London Consulate instead of Lagos we were heart broken because of the information we found online and how NVC kept saying they couldn’t help etc
Anyways we had to contact both Embassy we sent the first email to the London Consulate and we were told that we needed to email Lagos Consulate to contact them directly and that even after the approval of transfer it would take 6 to 8weeks or more before the transfer would be completed we were disappointed with this news
Our case got sent to London on the 26th of May, and London transferred it to Lagos by the 28th of May, we got an update on CEAC that it had been received in Lagos by the 1st of June, we were overjoyed by how quick everything was going so we decided to email the Lagos embassy in regards to packet 3&4 but we got a reply stating they had only received the electronic file and was still waiting on the physical file to be sent …hmmm what did this mean for us???
Anyways we went ahead did the DS-160, paid booked an appointment for the 9th of July with the hope that everything would be settled by then as at the 23rd of June we emailed again and got disappointed our physical case wasn’t in Lagos yet, anyway I the beneficiary decided to go on holiday left Nigeria on the 26h of June and went back to London, by the 1st of July we finally got the email we had been waiting for our physical file and everything involving the interview was ready…
Like really after I left the country Damn!!!! anyways I finally got back to Lagos on the 10th of August which was a Monday by Tuesday I went for my medicals at the Children’s Practice my advice get there as early as 8,8:30am. I got there by 9:20am and didn't leave until 2pm. I had to pay 15,000Naira at the Gtb close to the hospital luckily for me I didn’t need any Immunization/Vaccines. I was asked to come for my results same week Friday, which I got by 4pm that Friday.
By Wednesday I went for my Police Clearance at Ikoyi it took me 10minutes but this was because we knew someone the amount we paid can’t say for obvious reasons.
Would make a different post on how the Interview went!!!!!

Our file was also transferred to the wrong consulate and it took an extra 2 months to get it to the right one. It happens, even if you do everything

right. Good luck on your interview.
