My fiancée is worried about the Ukrainian school system not letting her children move during the school year. Does anybody know of any problems that could arise and also offer any solutions if known.

They have no right not to allow you to take your kids whenever you want from Ukrainian school. I was asked where I am taking them and that is all. I was written a kind of application which said that I was taking kids documents and medical card with vaccination paper.

She may be also asked full custody papers or paper from her ex husband or the court that allow her to take kids abroad. Though I was not.

If I were her I would better be worried about schools in the USA. In some states if you don't register kids for school on time you will have to wait till the next year. So you should check this about your state.

Thank you Irina. I have already been talking to my school district. They know that her children are coming. My fiancée has heard a story about a lady that had issues with her moving her children duing the school year. She has been worried about this. I have already sent her what you have written.

We took my step son out of school in Ukraine, a few weeks before the end of the last school year, no problems. They did ask for copies of our tickets (we gave them a copy of our PNR, since I work for an airline, and we were traveling on employee passes). They didn't put any grades for the final quarter in his record, but had we agreed to pay the "fee" they would have done that as well. No problems getting him enrolled in school here with what they gave us.
