Hello!

Filing details are in my timeline below; Today I got an e-mail telling me my interview will be September 21 2015 - no address or time - I guess that will be in the letter.

So now I have a little under 5 weeks to prepare.

I know already that I should take a copy of everything I've ever sent to USCIS; What else should I take?

Is my wife required to be at the interview (we assume so, and indeed hope that is the case).

And am I correct in assuming there are 3 possible outcomes on the day of the interview: Yes, No or 'We need more information'

Most importantly you will need to bring evidence to prove you marriage is legitimate. They will ask questions based on the information off of the packet you sent to make sure that answers match.

Yes, your wife needs to be there for the interview and most likely will be asked to go in with you at the same time.

I am thinking that I might take along some letters from friends/neighbors etc, an affidavit if you like.

I am wondering how such a document should be written.

I do understand that I will not be able to produce this evidence at the interview unless asked for it - I'm just assuming it's better to have it in case than not.

My marriage is 100% - we've been living together for 2 years this September 3rd, and the tenancy agreement (we're renting) is in both our names. I am an authorized user on one of her credit cards, and am in the process of making her an authorized user on my credit card.

We are unable to have joint accounts as, apparently, Massachusetts law requires me to have a MA ID to have a joint account with a USC - we DO however have separate bank accounts, and there's plenty of money transfers between the two to cover bills as & when.

Any advice on the 'affidavits' from friends & relatives?

There will be a checklist in your letter that states exactly what you have to bring (and spouse is on that list!).

You probably have received your letter by now though. So, about your 3 possible outcomes: it can also be none of the above. I did not get a yes, a no, or a "we need more information." She only said "I will recommend you to my supervisor" and that was it.

I can see from your timeline that you was approved - 3 months after your interview.

Was there any communication after your interview, before your "card is in production" ????

None whatsoever. I ended up making an infopass and contacting the senator. It was a long three months!!
