Hi

I have an interview on Thursday and i am required to present the original UK police certificate. However, when I was travelling to Ukraine to spend a few days there, my baggage got lost:(( All documents collected for the interview were there, including the police certificate.

Is it okay if I go to the embassy with just a copy of ACRO certificate?

Unless you get really lucky, you may have to go away without an approval. When you get a replacement certificate you will use the courier to send the certificate and your passport to the embassy. They will get back to your case, review it, and then issue the visa. Don't expect them to jump on your case the day you send the certificate. It could be a few days, a week or even two weeks before they go back to pick up your case.

I have requested a new expedite certidicate and put embassy's address for a delivery. Hope everything works out :(

I went yesterday and I had a copy of the ACRO and the original. The lady at the counter who was reviewing the documents accidentally passed over the original copy (it was sort of stuck to some other things she didn't want with a paper clip) and she said "oh, you just have a copy of the police certificate? That should be fine." We then pointed out the original and she added that to the rest of the things. I think they actually use a bit of common sense (surprise!) and since it's needed for the medical they may accept a copy. Good luck!
