NB: sorry for the long story

Hi everyone one ok her is the story of my husband. He was married to a USC 5 years a go then I think after 3 year things started going bad just because he got a job as a flight attendant she couldn't stand it. She then decided to file for divorce behind his back and got back with her ex father of her kids who just got out of jail. He never knew and at the same time he was waiting for his 10 years GC. He and I met on February 2013 in paris started dating we will always meet in paris then he asked me to move down here I had my visa that time cause I used to travel a lot. February 2014 we got married June 2014 I got pregnant. Now after 5 years he decided to file for naturalization so he can sponsor me for the GC. He filed 90 days before his anniversary date 1 week later got the notification then 2 weeks later the letter for the biometric then 2 week after the biometric the letter for the interview which was on July 16. He said everything went well he passed the English test but the officer said he can not approve immediately since then we are waiting and it's really stressful. Anyone with a similar situation? I am kinda worry because I think maybe because we got married and I overstay so they will deny him?? Please any experience and advice anyone??

I am new to this process myself but there are several posts on VJ which indicate that lack of an immediate approval at the interview is not unusual. There could be other factors at play. Maybe the IO needs a supervisor to sign-off before a final decision can be provided. Maybe the IO needs to review some additional information in your husband's file. If you don't hear from USCIS by the 3rd week of August, then I suggest he schedule an infopass to inquire about the status of his application. Hope it works out :-)

Ok thank NexGen I will advice him about that. The thing is he is waiting on that to file for me too because I overstay and I am quite uncomfortable about that I must say

You being an overstay does not mean much and should not affect the decision.

My husband is in the same situation. He had his interview on July 21. We submitted additional documents on 28. Waiting and not knowing is so painful.

01/28/12 Mailed I-130, I-485, I-102, I-131, I-765
04/18/12 Biometrics done in Philadelphia
05/10/12 RFE response received and under review
06/07/12 Interview is scheduled on 07/10/12 :)
07/11/12 I-130 approved/no word on I-485 :(
07/12/12 5:20 PM received an email I-485 approved!!!!!!!!
07/16/12 Hard copies of I-130 and I-485 approval letters received
07/17/12 Card production ordered
07/18/12 Card Sent :)
07/20/12 Greencard received

The immigration officer didn't request nor asked for additional documents at the interview. However, she said that she will mail a letter. A letter was received three days after an interview.

Alex and Sofya did you have your oath ceremony yet? My husband called uscis today and spoke with a tier 2 officer and he told my husband that he's been approved and he is placed in line for oath ceremony. We are wondering how long it takes before we received the mail for the oath ceremony date??
