getting Philippine Passport

Does anyone here just applied and got their Philippines passport in Manila DFA (any location)?

My fiance is trying to get one but because he is not from Luzon, Manila DFA is not our priority place for him to get it. But as we heard from people we know that just applied in provincial DFA offices, they have delays in processing, may take up to 4months, even CEBU DFA doesn't have rush processing..

I just want to ask if Manila DFA has rush processing or even 15days. Or how long did it took you from application to getting your passport? We're thinking of going to DFA Aseana branch to do it by next month.

This is what is posted in dfa.gov.ph

29 June 2015

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sincerely apologizes for the current passport delays being experienced by the public, both here and abroad.

These delays have been caused by operational and technical adjustments required to meet increased passport demands.

The improved production capacity is expected to be achieved by mid-August of this year, by which time delivery schedules will normalize.

The DFA thanks the public for its understanding and cooperation during this adjustment period. END

Before I will answer your question please let me ask you first. From where he is from in the Philippines? I got my passport renewed in Bacolod and it was so fast compared Cebu which I had renewed twice back then in Cebu. So chaotic and lots of people over there in Cebu.

There are other locations to get your passport but I don't know how convenient they are to you. Have you looked these locations for passport processing? My attachment shows that you can avail yourself of expedited processing for an additional fee. I don't know how that impacts you.

Even with the delays, it took Liza a month to get hers. She is in Zamboanga, however, and anyone paying attention knows how bad that place is lately. She just received it last early last month in fact. Because of the large amount of applications right now, I think all of Philippines has a delay, no matter the branch. All passports go to Manila for process and print anyhow.

On my website I tell people who are beginning their visa journey to start the passport process if you are a first time passport recipient then, especially if you do not have one that by the time you depart, doesn't have 6 months remaining. They will not let you travel on a passport with less then 6 months remaining.
