Now, i was wondering to hear different ideas of how some of you guys prepared your packets, because i was wondering to get the clear protectors and just slide in different ones the different documents, and place them all in a binder. Is this a bad idea, or what? How did you guys Assemble your packet?

I'm just assembling my packet now..........

I've punched 2 holes at the top of every sheet then I'll fasten them together with a single Acco clip.

I've written a list of contents for my "proof of meeting" documents with each item numbered and described on the list, then I've attached tabs to the bottom of each sheet and marked the tab with the corresponding number in the contents list.

All multi-sheet docs i've fastened with paper clips (cos apparently the uscis dont like staples).

Try reading the thread started by the ex-uscis guy.....he gives some good advice on there

THere have been alot of discussions, in the last few days. Look back and read some of them to get different ideas but no binders. I two hole punched the top, used a slider clasp with tabs on the bottom.

i dontmind punching holes, the thing is that i have to send in my ORIGINAL certificate of citizenship. and honestly i dont think it would be a good idea to punch holes in that.

For the pictures i got a small package of pages that would be used in a photo album, they had holes in the side but that was ok, i made new ones in the top. Anyway these have a plastic (film) that raises and then sticks back down holding whatever is inside, (as in a photo album) try that for things you don want to punch holes in the original copys.

No need to poke holes and send in an original, a copy will do. SHOULD they ever need an original (with the exception of the forms) they will let you know.

i called the USCIS, like 20 mns ago, the told me if the form asked for the original to send the original.. and the form clearly states to send in the original

I would be very careful of sending anything that was the Only original, as you will prob not get it returned. Maybe you can get a copy and have it certified, leaving you the ORIGINAL

We made copies, we poked holes, we sent in and was approved. However, if you are told that this particular document HAS to be sent in, then it's going to have some ACCO vents in it for them. My documents were originals from a foreign country (Germany), but copies sufficed, no RFE's, no problems.

honeslty im not very hapy with sending the original. i just wished i can send in the copy and get it notorized, because she said i wont get it back until EVERYTHING is approved, so im guessing until my fiancee getthe visa, god willin. and in the dominicanrepublic the process is taking more than 1 1/2 yrs.

im about to do the copys just because is a legal document i cannot afford to loose and is the main document that i have that states ima US CITIZEN, so therefore i should get it notorized, right?

yes, unless you have time, i dont know where the original originated from if you request a certified copy as we do the birth certificates
