So my wife was approved in juarez, mexico and we have arrived in the USA and are waiting for her resident card to arrive in the mail. So my question is now that my wife is here with me, I want to change my filing status with the IRS from single to married, do I have to prove anything or send them the marriage certificate, or is it automatically updated in the system while the process was going on?
