So we called NVC and were so relieved to hear that our file has already been sent to Vancouver. And the file number starts with VAC, so you'd think that would be trustworthy. BUT when I checked just now on the CEAC website (trying to look for info to update our timeline), it says "Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal."

WTH?!? Montreal?!?!!!

Fiance' couldn't get through to the US Consulate in Vancouver today on the phone (more voicemail hell), so we have no idea if it's really there. He's emailed them with the case number and asked for Packet 3. Supposedly they respond within a couple of business days.

But in the meantime, is this something we should be worried about? Has anyone else had the wrong consulate show up on the CEAC results? I'm just hoping NVC hasn't bungled and sent our file to Montreal now instead of Vancouver!

It says READY, by the way, with a status update of today. Case creation date of 26 June but that's the only other info. No clue how to update our timeline for when received by NVC, when it left there, nor when Vancouver (or Montreal!) may have received it. Sigh. It has not been a smooth experience with NVC!

It is normal. Do not worry about it. Your file starts with VAC, so Vancouver is processing it.

Send them an email, they reply pretty quickly. Make sure all the documents needed for Packet 3 is ready, then everything else will be smooth and fast.

Congrats! and Goodluck!

THANK YOU!!!!!! Sorry to shout but wow. I was panicking again for a minute there. Whew!!! Seriously... thank you so much for the reassurance! As I'm sure you know, it means the world!!!

You're welcome. I totally understand. I remember last time, I sent them an email to ask about this.. lol.. but there is really nothing to worry.. Do you have a copy of the packet 3?

Here is the link:

It is better to prepare the documents ahead of time, as the scheduling of interviews and medicals also take time.

Goodluck :) Do not forget to file for your EI..

Mine said Montreal instead of Vancouver. Once it showed as "Ready" on the CEAC site, I automatically sent Packet 3 to the Vancouver consulate. Same day it changed to ready, and they sent me Packet 4 the next day.

Good luck getting an interview. I booked mine yesterday and the closest date was September 29th. :(
