Hey Everyone,

Great news, We just received our NOA2 and we are very excited. Anyways we had some questions for other couples that did the K-1 at the Accra Ghana embassy. We understand that each consulate does things their own way. Anyone who has had recent experiences with the Ghana consulate would be extremely helpful.

Q1) OK, so when we looked at the Accra consulate information it stated that packets 3 and 4 would be emailed to my fiancee, however after reading posts, we couldn't really find posts to support this. Has anyone actually received emails containing packet 3 and 4? Will they actually mail the packet? ( I doubt they will). Experiences would be helpful

Q2) How much time will my fiancee have to complete the packets before her interview in Accra? Is there a deadline?

Q3) Does my fiance choose her own K1 interview date, or does the Accra consulate pick for her?

Q4) To our understanding as of July 2015 Packet three will contain the following forms: DS-156K , DS-156, I-134, and the DS-230. Are there any other forms we need to be aware of?

For the I-134, we have read the CO's are a bit particular about tax transcripts, are these really necessary, and if so how many years need be included? Are these the same as W-2s?

That should be all our questions for now, we always appreciate everyones input, and we wish you all luck on your cases. Thanks Everybody!

Once you get your case number from the NVC you can track your case on the CEAC website. You will know when your case has arrived at the Embassy in Ghana. Wait a week to ten days then email the embassy and request a Call-In-Letter. You will then email that letter to your Fiancée, she will take that letter to the Embassy and pick up packets 3 and 4. Packet 4 will give you the interview date. She can not make that date herself only the Embassy does that. Ghana is very different from other Embassy's.

Packet three includes instructions for her to go get her medical. Take a copy of the interview letter that has your interview date on it to the clinic. Have her go and get her police report now. That is one less thing she will have to worry about.

You will need to send her the I-134, 2014 tax return or tax transcript. It's best if you send the last three years. You can order your transcript from the IRS website. I took three years of tax transcripts when I went to my fiancé (now husband) interview and the CO only wanted 2014.

I wish you the best!!

If you have any questions you can inbox me.
