Hi,

Thank you for your listing....very detailed at that!

Tell me something, did your wife send in tax info previously?

Yes she did.. all the info was on the affidavit of support, however I've had some errors, upon which I contacted an attorney to assist us in getting the form refilled and resubmitted...

It seems like it's just the two of us from trinidad on this site going thru this phase ... keep me posted.. I'll let you know when I get an interview .. tomorrow will make it 3 weeks nd waiting since case completed

Hi,

Thank you for the reply. My husband sent me the tax info. I hear the officer does not always ask to see it but better to be safe than have a delay, right!

Also, I recommend that you create a Timeline for your profile with all the info you sent me....it really helps others get an idea of the waiting periods. I know other people's timelines helped me grasp an understanding of the entire process. :secret:

You can use this link to do so -

By the way, there is another Trini on here but he messages me privately on issues and not on the forum threads. He filed for his wife and child in May 2015; same as my husband did for me and my 2 kids....so we're all just playing the "Waiting game". :clock:

OK I will create a time line today..

I did get copies of her tax documents, however in my case closed letter I've received on August 3. They've requested for me to bring the recent tax transcript of my wife and my Co sponsor at the interview. .

I'm also filing for husband in Trinidad. From what I learned after you file your I-130 you have a 5-8 month wait for approval from the USCIS saying that your spouse can apply for a visa. We filed in April and we are still waiting. After approval you go to The NVC stage where you submit tax info which takes 4 months. After this your spouse, or in your case you will have an interview at the Embassy in Port of Spain. Which takes about 2 months. The process is a year or more, if he's s USC and you're living in Trinidad.

My uscis process took 6 months

Nvc took 6 months

U just got my interview letter for trinidad embassy for 29 of September

Basically my case took 12 months plus another for interview then to obtain visa.. I'd say roughly case will take 14 months

That's awesome! You're almost there! If you don't mind, please share your interview experience so we can have a sense of what to expect. Is your spouse going with you? Do they even let spouses/petitioners in the Embassy on interview day?
