Any news about DCF filers waiting for Montreal interview?

Hey everyone,

Well I got impatient and decided to confirm the whole theory of when interview dates are scheduled. I called Montreal and just asked the general question - how/when are Visa interviews scheduled? The lady I spoke to was really really nice and explained it fairly well.

Unfortunately for all of us in this thread....we are all second priority. The National Visa Center schedules their applicants' interviews for Montreal first - they do this on the 15th of the month. So applicants who filed through USCIS/NVC get priority...whatever open date/times are available after the NVC has scooped up what they need - those are the ones passed out to us.

As an example, if for the month Montreal can schedule and accommodate 500 interviews...the NVC takes what they need (say for example 450) - the remaining 50 are used for us "special cases." These numbers are just for the purpose of the example (they were not provided by the lady in Montreal).

So inadvertently our interviews get scheduled after the 15th of the month - this is just because the NVC does it by then. So its some informative news...not necessarily good news, but informative.

Boy if we knew then what we know now, we would have done this whole thing differently. Unfortunately we're now too far along to change it up, so all we can do is wait...

Darryl

Thanks Darryl:

Yes I called today too, and not scheduled yet, nice lady explained they are short on staff.

when I asked the question, are interviews scheduled after the 15th of the month, she said that was correct..

(thanks for your update)

Maybe we hope for after Monday the 15th hey ! We will beat this thing very soon !!!!

Well yet another unsuccessful communication with Montreal. I got impatient and decided to call Montreal today to see if our interview was scheduled with this latest "batch" of cases...I waited on hold for over 30 minutes and decided to hang up as I had other things to do. So of course I sent off an email asking politely if an interview had been scheduled in this latest batch. The reply....

Thank you for your email.

A date has not been scheduled yet. We will send out a letter as soon as

a date is available.

Regards,

IV Unit

FANTASTIC! I just love the vagueness...don't ever bother to give any more information than what is absolutely required. So even though we were told last month that we would be in the "next batch” apparently once again we were lied to and the communications coming from Montreal are not exactly credible.

I replied back asking for more information as to why this hasn't happened yet and when it would happen....lord only knows what kind of response I'll get back...I can pretty much guarantee it will be vague and inaccurate.

This is getting insanely frustrating! I'm sure many of you are in the same boat feeling the same anger and frustration with the complete lack of respect and information coming from a government agency...What do we have to do to get some concrete credible answers?

arrrggghhhhhhhh

Stilllllll waiting.......It's ok though - it's not like this process was initiated for a reason....we have no plans or ambitions after this process has completed....how do you spell sarcasm again???

These months of waiting just fly by don’t they…Hey after 8 months what’s one, two, ten, more???

Well Montreal has surpised the hell out of me....I called today to get some information as to why/when the interview might be scheduled. We are right on edge and need to start either making plans or breaking plans...so I called to actually speak to someone and see what the scoop is.

It was the fastest best call I've ever had. The girl who answered was polite and courteous and seemed genuinely concerned and willing to help. She took my case number and put me on hold for about 30 seconds, came back and told me our interview date was scheduled for June 1st!!!! She said we'd be getting the letter in the mail in the next couple of weeks...but its scheduled and we're all set!

This is such fantastic news! I have no idea why whoever responded to our email yesterday said it wasn't scheduled - neither did the girl I talked to today....just goes to show that the information you're given is always correct - double check.

We are soooo pumped and can't wait to get things going!

Colin,

Thats unfortunate that you had to deal with a rude person and that no word on the interview date yet. Hopefully in the next round. We're cautiously optimistic but are still waiting for the letter to breathe a sigh of relief...wait and see. I'll be sure to update if/when we get it

Woo hoo - just recieved the packet 4 from Montreal - so our interview is confirmed and we're ready to go. Packet 4 is like 13-14 pages of information most of it you'll already be aware of - security procedures at the COnsulate, medical information, what to bring etc. If anyone has any questions and wants me to elaborate let me know.

One thing that surprised me was that you need 5 passport sized pictures - 3 for the medical and 2 for the Consulate - $50 worth. I thought we'd only need 1-2.

So I'm now trying to get the medical booked and get that process underway.

5 weeks to go!
