K1 Vancouver Questions

Happy Canada Day Canadians!!

I have a few quick questions about the K1 process in Vancouver that I am hoping those who have gone through Vancouver can answer for me. My file has finally arrived at the NVC after 8 months and 2 days. Not that I'm counting. Which means that my case should get to Vancouver within the next 2 weeks. Give or take. So...

1. I submitted my DS160 already. See above. I waited 8 months. I was excited when we finally got approved. Will this be a problem? I can't imagine it will be, it's the same information that it would be once the consulate receives my stuff.

2. Can I submit packet 3 before they send it to me? So once everything is at the consulate, can I just send it in? It's a download link, I can't imagine that I would need to wait for a letter to arrive with that in it? Mine is printed, and completed, just waiting on my VAC number.

3. Has anyone received an interview date recently that was for a date earlier than September? Or do cancellations happen? I am happy to refresh a page every 5 minutes for weeks to get an earlier date...

4. Does anyone have any idea approximately how long it takes from the time NVC receives it, until it gets to Vancouver?

Any help anyone can give, or any other additional advice I may have missed, I would appreciate it! Thank you!!

Hey!

Mine took a few weeks to get from NVC to Vancouver.. I think about 3-4? If you send your packet 3 before they receive it, I think they cannot accept it because they wouldn't have a file on you yet. You don't have to wait for the Packet three to be mailed to you, but you do need to be sure Vancouver has your file. You can email them and ask if they have it and they can confirm and will likely just email the packet three at that time.

I don't know about the interviews. I remember when I did mine in January, it took forever to get dates.. They had December ones up all the way mid December before they posted January. When I did it they only had interviews on Tuesday too. I tried bothering them about interview dates and they said they update them regularly.. Best thing to do is keep checking. Cancellations happen, but I don't know how often.

There are some good reviews on Vancouver interviews on here. It was overall pretty straight forward when I got there. My nerves were high, but in the end it was pretty easy.
