This morning we were given our case number and invoice number over the phone. The case agent said because there were issues with the computer system she would fill the DS261 with me over the phone and in a week from today I will get an email to pay the invoice fee.

Anyone else have experience with this? Should we wait the week or fill out the DS261 online?

Thank you in advance :)

Who gave u ur case number ? are you talking about the nvc number starting with JRS ( if ur interview will take place in Jerusalem)?
and whats ur invoice number ? is it different than the nvc. Am I missing sth? i only had an NVC # given by the nvc when my case was transfered to jerusalem.

to go back to ur question, im not sure i filled mine online and paid the fees.

When you file your case, the NVC gives you two number: You Case number and an Invoice number. These two number can be found in any letter from the NVC or email...if you cant find them or dont know them you can call them two get that information. But with bothe numbers you can log into their website ( https://ceac.state.gov/iv/) and be able to print the DS-form. You can only print it if you have paid your fees.
