Expedited IR2/CR2

Any recent experience from anyone on CR2 processing times?

I was approved yesterday for expedited processing so my step-daughter will catch up with her mother who already has a CR1 visa in hand.

NVC told me this morning that ap package should be leaving NH today for Manila. After they get it what is typical time frame to get the scheduled appointment letter? I'm pretty sure NVC already has all the docs they need so I'm guessing they will only need to see originals? Daughter is only 4 so I'm hoping there won't be any pitfalls.

Track your package (DHL) which I did for my son (sent June 10 and reached MNL 06/15). NVC will email you once they actually send it indicating the date it was shipped out. Once I had this email, I scheduled the interview (ustraveldocs.com. I did not wait for the letter from USEM). On June 16 CEAC status changed to READY (for interview) which I printed out and copied then sent to my son's email (for him to print it). He already has the confirmation of his interview sked and the CEAC status print-out which he will use on Monday for his medical. I sent him all the original docs, in case USEM will ask for any of them (although NVC stated in their email that my son's case was complete already before they transferred it to USEM Manila).

Based on my previous experience for my first son (also expedited), the letter from USEM was sent very late. Goodluck.

I have a couple of questions. How did you trace the DHL package? Were you given tracking information?

Yes, I was wondering the same thing because I didn't see any tracking info for any of the docs when getting my asawa's CR1.

I thought that the beneficiary for cr1/cr2 visas had to wait for the USEM to schedule appointment. Apparently with the proper information anyone can schedule the appointment? Kind of seems like a duplicity of effort if both the USEM and beneficiary schedule a time slot.

How far out are the first available booking dates?

Appears that the med could be done within 2 weeks and then the interview at first available time slot.

Only cases with approved req to expedite and K1 categories can schedule an interview appointment. With regards to DHL tracking, I rea it here in VJ. Somebody was able to figure out how to track packages being shipped out by NVC. However, theres no guarantee that what appeared there (tracking info.) is yours. Its a hit or miss, or based on assumption. In my case, I checked it after talking to rep from NVC (when i was told it was sent out).

  • 3 months later...

Hi, this thread has been a couple of months old, but I hope someone could help... my husband is getting a CR2 for my 17 y/o daughter (his stepdaughter). We're just about to send an I-130. Mine has just been approved and waiting for NVC to send the packet here in MNL. I was hoping that my daughter's could catch up so we both could leave at the same time. How do we qualify for expedited process? Would really appreciate your input on this... thank you!
