Hello dear friends,

So our petition got approved on last week 06/08/20515.

Then just right after a week! today I got a text and email stating that "Your name was changed" . And also MyCase status shows that message as well. I didn't change my name or anything. What could this be? It probably is nothing serious but I'm little bit worried. Has this happened to anyone?

could be 1 of 3 things, IMO -

1. data error at USCIS or

2. clerk that touched the electronic record clicked the wrong thing (rare, but it happens) or

3. clerk reviewing someone else's casefile had YOUR casefile up, and changed status on what he/she thought was the other casefile, when in fact it was your casefile.

What to do? if'n you really really really want to chase this down, call into the National Call Center, ask for an ISO, ask them to review the electronic stuff on the casefile and ask them specifically 'why does the status reflect a namechange?'

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I am in exactly the same situation!

Application for I-129f received May 19th 2017, Case was approved on November 13th 2017, but then 22nd November we received the same update of "Your name was updated" despite us not changing our names.

Does this mean that the application has not been forwarded onto the NVC? does this mean ANOTHER delay in our application...(It look 6 whole months for our case to be reviewed and approved).

What is happening!?
