Hello everyone,

Long time reader..first time poster( sounds almost cliche..i know: ). First of I wanted to thank everyone in the forum..I have never needed to post a question - I just used to read existing posts and it has been an invaluable help for me and my wife in navigating the process. We have been married almost 2 years now and my wife received her temporary green card end of 2005. I am starting to plan for the I-751 but have a question. When I filed all my previous application I was living in Chicago and worked with the Nebraska center. I am moving to New Jersey next month and I wanted to know if I can file the I-751 in Vermont without any issues. Do I need to contact the USCIS to move the application to Vermont? Has anyone faced this issue? Any advice appreciated.

I just wanted to let you know that you file the I-751, 2 years after you get the green card.... you have a 90 day window up to the date your green card expires....

When you move you need to file a AR-11 which you can do online now too...

https://egov.immigration.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

you will also need to send in a Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address

when you fill out the forms for the I-751, include your new address.... but if you have a case pending before you move you need to call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to request that the address on your pending application/petition be changed.....

but from the looks of it you probably have enough time between your move and when you can file...

yes we do have some time. With the move and all I don't want to miss anything.

Thank you very much for the advice. I checked out those forms and will file them in March as soon as we move. Do you know if I will get any letter from USCIS as a confirmation saying that our application has moved to Vermont after I submit the change of address forms?

after you move and it is time to submit the I-751, submit it to Vermont with your new address,....

there is no need to inform the Nebraska Center that you moved unless you have a case pending there, which you don't have at this time....
