Help, misplaced i797 for One year extension

So I filed March 6th and did my biometrics on April 12th.

I received that letter sometime not too long ago and I keep all my files in a safe but some how I cannot find it for the life of me. It stated that in case I did not receive my GC on time that this would work. Well I have called today 5/19/15 to USCIS and they said someone will call me to mail me a duplicate but my license expires on the 29th and I just barely found this website (in my mind I thought I would get my GC any day now, until I saw the timelines here on this website).

Anyway has anyone ever had this issue? If yes do you know if there will be any additional issues getting a duplicate letter? I'm starting a new job in mid June and they will definitely need proof.

Get an INFOPASS appointment at your local USCIS office to obtain I 551 stamp in your passport. That should solve your issue. USCIS should be able to put a stamp in your passport, with or without your letter.
