If the K-1 is approved and you get married, does your foreign partner have to live in the U.S.?

You have a super complicated situation, and I just do not know what combinations of visas it would take to achieve your goals.

I am not even sure this can work at all. It would seem to me that too many things are being put before the marriage and spending your lives together.

There has to be a better way. Maybe a good immigration, can come up with a solution.
